Community rules.
The community is for useful questions and answers about search and AI visibility. These rules keep it that way.
-
Be specific and helpful
Say what you tried, what you saw, and what you expected. Numbers, screenshots described in words, and the exact wording of prompts help others answer well.
-
Stay on topic
Threads belong in the community that fits them, with the flair that matches. Off topic marketing is for marketing talk that does not fit elsewhere, and it still needs to be useful.
-
No promotion
Do not advertise services, tools, or courses, and do not post affiliate links. Linking to your own data or an earlier thread to support a point is fine. Link-in-bio pages, shortened links, invite links, and contact details used to draw people off the forum are rejected automatically. Links from accounts under 7 days old appear as plain text.
-
Protect people and credentials
Do not post email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, ID numbers, payment details, API keys, tokens, or passwords, yours or anyone else. Do not name clients without their permission.
-
Keep it civil
Disagree with the idea, not the person. Harassment, hateful language, threats, sexual content, and illegal goods or scams are not allowed and are removed. Posts that mention self-harm are held for review so a person can respond with care.
-
Search before you post
Check whether the question has been answered. Duplicates may be merged or removed.
-
Text only
Posts support paragraphs, bold, italic, lists, inline code, code blocks, and links. Images, files, and raw HTML are not supported.
How moderation works
- Posts from new accounts are held for review. An account is new for its first 24 hours or until it has 3 published posts.
- Posts and replies that trip the content checks are held or rejected with a message that names the reason. The checks cover self promotion, adult content, scams, hidden characters, and link drops.
- Hidden form fields catch automated posting. Submissions that fill them are discarded without a message.
- Three reports from different accounts hide a post until a moderator reviews it.
- Edits go through the same checks as new posts. A deleted post or reply shows as [deleted].
- Posts by The Doily team are marked as such.
