SEO ROI calculator.

Enter your monthly searches or visits, your current and target position, your conversion rate, and what a customer or lead is worth. The calculator estimates extra clicks and revenue from the move using a planning click-through curve, then shows payback against your monthly cost. Every figure is an estimate, with the formula shown.

Start from

Searches a month for the keywords you are targeting.

1 is the top result.

A smaller number.

Visits that become a sale or lead.

Optional. Enter 0 to skip payback.

The gain builds evenly over this time.

Estimates, not forecasts

How it is worked out

Click-through comes from Doily's planning curve, the same one the click-through estimator uses. Real rates vary by query, search features, and AI Overviews, and nobody can promise a ranking.

This tool runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored.

    How to use it

    1. Pick your starting point Use monthly searches if you know the keyword volume, or the monthly visits those pages get now if you do not.
    2. Set the move Enter the position you hold now and the one you aim for. Lower numbers are better.
    3. Add what a visit is worth Enter your conversion rate and the average order or lead value. Add your monthly cost to see payback.
    4. Read the formulas Each result shows how it was worked out, so you can change any assumption and see the effect.

    Why it matters

Position changes clicks more than most people expect. The planning curve used here gives position 1 about 31.7 percent of searches, position 3 about 18.7 percent, and position 8 about 3.1 percent. Moving a keyword from 8 to 3 multiplies its clicks by about 6. That curve is a planning assumption, the same one used in the click-through estimator, not a measured result, and real rates vary by query, search features, and AI Overviews.

The math is a chain. Extra clicks come from the difference in click-through between the target and the current position. Conversions are extra clicks times your conversion rate, and revenue is conversions times average value. Payback compares the running revenue with the running cost, month by month. Rankings rarely move overnight, so the calculator ramps the gain in a straight line over the months you enter, then holds it.

Use it to test ideas, not to promise results. Nobody can guarantee a ranking, and position 3 may never be reached. Try several scenarios, including a smaller move and a lower conversion rate, and see whether the case still holds. If it only works under the best assumptions, you want to know that before you spend. Replace the example numbers with figures from your own analytics and sales.

    Questions

    Are these results a forecast?

No. They are estimates built on assumptions you can see and change. Rankings, click-through rates, and conversion rates all vary.

Where does the click-through curve come from?

It is Doily's planning curve, the same one the click-through estimator uses and lets you edit. It is an assumption, not a figure published by a search engine.

What if I do not know the keyword volume?

Switch to visits and enter the monthly organic visits those pages get now. The calculator then scales that number by the change in click-through.

Why does payback say it is not within 5 years?

The estimated monthly revenue is lower than the monthly cost, so the running total never turns positive in the 60 months checked.
