QR code generator.

Enter a link or text and the tool draws a QR code you can download as an SVG or a PNG. You choose the error correction level, the size, the colors, and the blank border. The code is made in your browser, so the text you enter is never sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Enter a link or text Start links with https so phones open them as links. Shorter content makes a simpler code.
  2. Pick an error correction level Medium suits most uses. Choose High if the code may get scuffed or carry a logo.
  3. Set the colors Keep a dark code on a light background. The tool warns when contrast is too low to scan.
  4. Download and test Download the SVG for print or the PNG for screens, and scan it with a phone before you use it.

Why it matters

A QR code stores text as a grid of squares that a phone camera reads. Most people use it for a web address, and it is a handy bridge from print to a page. Pair it with a link that carries campaign tags so you can tell which poster or flyer drove the visit.

Error correction lets a code survive damage. Level L recovers about 7 percent of the data, M about 15, Q about 25, and H about 30. Higher levels make a denser code, so choose the lowest level that covers your conditions. Keep the blank border at 4 modules and a strong contrast, since those are what scanners need most.

Use SVG for print because it stays sharp at any size, and PNG for screens. Always test the printed code on more than 1 phone. A static code like this one has no tracking and never expires, because it holds the address itself.

Questions

Does the code expire?

No. It holds the text directly, so it works as long as the address it points to does.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The code is built in your browser and your text stays on your device.

Can I add a logo?

Not here. If you add one yourself, use High error correction and test the result, because a logo hides part of the data.

How much can a code hold?

Up to a few thousand characters at the lowest level. The tool tells you the limit if your text is too long.
