Build a report

Doily is opening soon. These articles describe how the product works at launch.

Quick answer

The report builder arranges your data in pages, sections, and widgets on a 12-column grid. It works on a desktop screen only. You can add comments, restore earlier versions, and add AI actions that cost 5 credits each: a summary letter, a year-over-year page, and next month's goals.

Before you start

  • A project with tracked keywords, prompts, or a connected Google account
  • A desktop or laptop screen, because the builder is desktop only

Steps

  1. Start a report

Create a new report for a project and give it a name.

  2. Add pages and sections

A report is made of pages. Each page holds sections, such as rankings, AI visibility, or traffic, to keep related numbers together.

  3. Place widgets on the grid

Widgets show charts, tables, and numbers from your data. The page is a 12-column grid, so you can set a widget to a narrow or wide width.

  4. Add AI actions if you want them

Two AI actions can write for a report: a summary letter and a year-over-year page. Each one costs 5 credits.

  5. Review versions and comments

The builder keeps a version history so you can go back to an earlier version. Teammates can leave comments on the report before it goes out.

  6. Choose how to deliver it

Reports can be delivered as a live link, a PDF, or an email digest.

Tips

  • Read the AI-written text before you send it. Doily uses AI and can make mistakes, so check important numbers.
  • Keep each page to one story, such as search rankings or AI visibility, so clients can scan it.

Troubleshooting

Why can I not open the builder on my phone?

The report builder is desktop only. Reports themselves can be read on any device.

Can I schedule a report on the Free plan?

No. Scheduled reports are not available on Free. Free is dashboard only.

Can I go back to an earlier version?

Yes. The version history keeps earlier versions of the report.
