How connections work
Doily is opening soon. These articles describe how the product works at launch.
Quick answer
Connect an integration by picking it, authorizing access, choosing the accounts to use, and confirming. Doily offers 181 connections in 20 categories. Data syncs daily at 6:00 AM workspace time by default, and disconnecting keeps your imported data for 90 days before it is deleted.
Before you start
- Access to the account you want to connect
- A Doily role that can manage connections
Steps
-
Pick the integration
Open Integrations and choose from 181 connections in 20 categories. Each one is marked Verified, Beta, or Manual.
-
Authorize
Sign in to the other service and approve access. Some connections use an API key instead, and Doily stores API keys encrypted.
-
Choose accounts
Select the property, ad account, or location that belongs to the project you are connecting.
-
Confirm the sync settings
Sync runs daily at 6:00 AM workspace time by default. You can choose every 6 hours or weekly on Monday, and you can pick a backfill of 3 months, 16 months (the default), or all available history.
-
Watch the first sync
A connection shows Finish setup, then Syncing, then Connected. The first backfill can take longer than later syncs.
-
Disconnect when you no longer need it
You can disconnect at any time. Doily keeps the data it imported for 90 days and then deletes it.
Tips
- Google connections are read-only. Doily can read your data and cannot change anything in your Google accounts.
- Choose the shortest backfill that still covers the period you need to report on.
- Reconnecting after a disconnect creates a new connection, and the earlier data stays attached to the client for the 90 days.
Troubleshooting
What do Verified, Beta, and Manual mean?
They show how mature a connection is. See the article on what Verified, Beta, and Manual mean.
Can I change how often a connection syncs?
Yes. Choose daily, every 6 hours, or weekly on Monday in the connection's settings.
Is my API key safe?
API keys are stored encrypted. You can disconnect at any time to remove access.
