Keyword research and prompt research limits

Quick answer
Each batch of keyword or prompt suggestions uses 1 research pull. Plans include 3 pulls a month on Free, 50 on Starter, 150 on Team, and 600 on Agency. Prompt research also costs 5 credits per batch. Keyword volume for areas smaller than a country is labeled estimated for that area.

Steps

Start a research batch
Ask for keyword or prompt suggestions based on your domain, your current keywords, and your competitors. Each batch is 1 research pull.

Know the credit cost
Keyword research uses pulls only. Prompt research is an AI action, so it also costs 5 credits per batch.

Review the suggestions
Accept the ones that match how your customers search or ask. Rejected suggestions do not use keyword slots or prompt limits.

Read the volume labels
Volume for a country is shown as measured data. For a state, city, or other smaller area, volume is labeled estimated for that area, because it is scaled from larger-area data.

Track what you accepted
Accepted keywords join a pool and use slots. Accepted prompts join your prompt list and are checked on your plan's engines.
Tips
- Research pulls reset every month and do not roll over.
- Run a batch after you connect Google, so suggestions can reflect the queries that already bring people to your site.
- Treat estimated volume as a way to rank keywords against each other, not as an exact count.
Troubleshooting
I am out of research pulls. What can I do?
Wait for the monthly reset or upgrade your plan. Plan limits are hard, so Doily does not charge for going over.
Why does volume say estimated?
Search data is most reliable at country level. For smaller areas Doily scales it and says so in the label.
Are research pulls the same as credits?
No. Research pulls are a separate monthly allowance. Only prompt research also uses credits, at 5 credits per batch.
