Turn on two-factor authentication
Doily is opening soon. These articles describe how the product works at launch.
Quick answer
Two-factor authentication is available to every Doily user on every plan. You turn it on in your account security settings, and workspace admins can require it for everyone in the workspace. It adds a second step at sign-in, so a stolen password alone is not enough to get into your account.
Before you start
- Access to your Doily account
- The device or method you will use for the second step
Steps
-
Open your security settings
Go to your account settings and open the security section.
-
Start two-factor setup
Choose to turn on two-factor authentication and follow the prompts to enroll your second step.
-
Keep your recovery options safe
Store any recovery option shown during setup in a safe place, such as a password manager. You will need it if you lose your device.
-
Confirm it works
Sign out, then sign in again. You should be asked for your second step after your password.
-
Require it for the workspace
Workspace admins can require two-factor authentication for everyone. Do this when you invite new people, so every account is protected from day one.
Tips
- Ask each teammate to turn it on the day they join, so no account waits for a reminder.
- Turn it on for every admin first. Admin accounts have the most access.
- Use a different, strong password for Doily than you use anywhere else.
- Doily stores password credentials hashed and encrypts data in transit and at rest.
