Quick answer
Upgrades take effect immediately, are prorated, and keep all of your history. Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your billing period, and cancelling returns you to Free at period end. Nothing is deleted when you downgrade. If a payment fails, Doily retries for about 2 weeks before moving you to Free.

Upgrade when you need more
Choose a higher plan or Agency level in Plans and Billing. The prorated difference is charged now, and the new limits apply immediately. This month's credits are topped up to the new plan's amount, by the difference only.

Downgrade at the end of the period
A downgrade is scheduled for the end of your billing period. Until then you keep your current limits, and Plans shows when the change happens. Credits are never taken back mid-month.

Switch between monthly and annual
Moving from monthly to annual takes effect immediately, with credit for unused days. Moving from annual to monthly happens at the end of the annual period.

Cancel
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing period. The workspace then drops to Free, and the Free limits apply to what you can view.

Recover from a failed payment
Doily retries a failed payment for about 2 weeks. If it still fails, the workspace moves to Free and history is kept for 90 days. Pay the open invoice within 90 days and the banner restores your plan.
Tips
- Update your payment method before it expires to avoid retries.
- After a downgrade, anything over the new limits becomes read-only and tracking pauses on the excess. A banner lists exactly what is paused and what resumes it.
Troubleshooting
Will I lose data if I downgrade?
No. Downgrades never delete data. History windows are applied when you view data, so older history returns if you upgrade again.
What do I keep after I cancel a paid plan?
The workspace moves to Free at the end of the period, and Free limits apply. If you delete the workspace instead, there is a 30-day read-only grace period with export before deletion.
Can I change plans in the middle of the month?
Yes. Upgrades apply immediately. Downgrades wait until the period ends so you keep what you paid for.
