Fix a connection that needs attention
Doily is opening soon. These articles describe how the product works at launch.
Quick answer
When a connection shows Needs attention: reconnect, access was revoked or expired, so sign in again from the connection's page and syncing resumes. Sync failed, Delayed, and Paused each have different fixes. A connection left in Needs attention for 30 days becomes Disconnected.
Before you start
- Access to the account behind the connection
Steps
-
Open the connection
Go to Integrations and open the connection that shows a warning. Its status explains what happened.
-
If it says Needs attention: reconnect
Access was revoked or has expired. Choose Reconnect and sign in again. Doily resumes from where it stopped.
-
If it says Sync failed
The other service returned an error on several runs in a row. Doily tries again at the next sync window and shows a plain reason. If it keeps failing, email [email protected].
-
If it says Delayed
The other service reached its daily limit. Doily continues automatically, so no action is needed.
-
If it says Paused
A plan limit, a budget pause, or an unpaid invoice paused the connection. The status shows the reason, and resolving it resumes syncing.
-
If it says Disconnected
The connection was removed, or it sat in Needs attention for 30 days. Reconnecting creates a new connection, and the earlier data stays for 90 days.
Tips
- Turn on email, in-app, or Slack alerts so you see a failed connection quickly.
- A connection can show Connected with a note such as 2 of 3 accounts synced. Open it to see which account failed.
Troubleshooting
Why did my Google connection ask me to reconnect?
Common causes are a changed Google password, access removed by an admin, or an expired authorization. Reconnecting fixes all of them.
Will I lose data when I reconnect?
No. Doily resumes from the stored position, and earlier data remains attached to the client.
Who is notified when a connection breaks?
The person who connected it receives an email and an in-app notification. Slack also receives one if you have turned it on.
Still stuck? Email [email protected] and a person will help.
